This Project Got Under Way At The End Of 2001 In A Disco On The Outskirts Of
Havana, Where A DJ And A Rapper, In Order To Animate Their Evenings And Nights,
Began To Improvise Music And Words.
Favorably Impressed By The Reaction Of The Audience, They Decided To Form A
Group, Which Later Became Known As CLAN 537.
Presently, The Band Is Made Up Of Three Explosive Boys. In A Few Months, They
Turned Into A Real Musical As Well As Social Phenomenon: With No Radio Or TV
Promotion At All, But Simply Thanks To Concerts And To Some Pirate Tapes
Recorded And Dubbed By Their Fans During Live Performances, CLAN 537 Succeeded
In Winning Over The Whole Isle Of Cuba And Also Getting To The States And
Europe.
The Band’s First Smash Hit Was Called “Quién Tiró La Tiza”. CLAN 537’s
Musical Style Cannot Be Identified Into One Specific Genre, Since It Is A
Mixture Of Pop, R&B, Hip Hop And Reggaeton, Blending The Most Typical Cuban
Rhythms With International Sounds. Many Tracks Are Remixed In Salsa Version For
Live Concerts.
